El príncipe Harry de Inglaterra y la actriz estadounidense Meghan Markle visitaron este viernes la ciudad de Nottingham, en el que fue su primer compromiso oficial juntos.
En una mañana fría en la ciudad del centro de Inglaterra, la pareja saludó y departió con las cientos de personas que se congregaron en las calle para saludarles, cuatro días después de que anunciaran que se casarán en mayo.
Vistiendo ambos abrigos oscuros de invierno, cumplieron con uno de los ritos iniciáticos de la familia real, “el paseo real” (royal walk), en que se estrechan manos y es frecuente recibir obsequios como flores.
Tras el paseo, Enrique y Meghan visitarán una asociación que ayuda a enfermos de sida y luego una escuela que participa en un programa contra la delincuencia juvenil.
“Markle está impaciente por conocer a todos esos jóvenes de los que le ha hablado el príncipe Enrique”, dijo Jason Knauf, portavoz del nieto de la reina Isabel II y quinto en la línea de sucesión al trono.
Se trata del primero de numerosos compromisos públicos antes de la boda en el castillo de Windsor en mayo, en un día todavía por precisar.
